“Form follows function – that has been misunderstood. Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union.” – Frank Lloyd Wright
As interior designers, our expertise is form. Whether styling a simple vignette or designing a dream construction project, we create, manipulate, and re-arrange form to achieve the intended result – we pair form with function to ensure that spaces not only look beautiful but also work to make life a little easier.
Every project requires a collective of talented professionals working together with the client to come up with the right solutions for their space. The client is always at the centre of the collective, driving the project with vision, requirements, a budget, and timeline. We work within these parameters to produce a detailed design plan that is inspired, yet realistic, and that can act as a roadmap for the many tradespeople who see the project through to completion.
Spending the summers of her childhood in Croatia, Josephina developed a fascination with fashion, architecture, materials, and finishes, as well as an enduring curiosity about how things are done in other parts of the world. So began a love for travel and culture that carried into her adult life, and she continues to explore places near and far in her search for the endless inspiration that informs her design projects. Josephina’s approachable, authentic self has been an asset to her work, as she has formed great working relationships with clients by helping them feel comfortable and inspired.
Lauren’s love of design began with her father, who worked as a carpenter. Through an insider’s perspective on her father’s projects, she was exposed to the various stages of building a home – from initial planning by the architect through laying the foundation to the moment the owner walks through their door for the first time. These early experiences helped shape her understanding that the fundamental success of a project depends on a harmonious relationship between the designer, tradespeople, and the client.
