Our clients came to us looking to update their gorgeous, waterfront condo in Yaletown. It was formerly two separate, two-bedroom & two-bathroom condo units that the previous owners had combined into one space. Though the conversion of the two units into one was a success, it was lacking the elevated style, flow & function that our clients were looking for. The challenge our clients tasked us with was re-working the floor plan to create better flow & unify the space into one true living space; erasing any hint of the former two condos. We planned & managed the renovation project along side Headland Construction. We took the project to the finish line, supplying & installing all the furniture, art & décor – most of which occurred while our clients were living out of the country. Our goal was to honor the incredible Vancouver views, provide every-day comfort & offer a space to host a good party!

We diligently planned a glamorous condo renovation featuring subtle hints of west-coast inspiration by bringing in warm woods, pops of rich green & blue colour tones. The finished result produced stunning features such as the fully back-lit Cristallo quartzite back-splash & hood fan feature, a curved stone island base, a customized dramatic bar, floor to ceiling upholstery in two of the bedrooms & unique finishing on both fireplaces. The living room fireplace is a custom metal surround by local New Format Studio, who also designed & manufactured the bar shelving & bar kick. The family room fireplace is a beautiful textured concrete form by local supplier Masana Stone. We paid special attention when adding layers of colours, textures, materials & décor to achieve a storied, sophisticated atmosphere which appears to have come together over time. We carefully selected a variety of art pieces, many of which seem like a surprising, colourful choice for the otherwise, moody, toned-down space. Many of the art pieces are original or limited prints by local artists, the two stand out pieces are the “Generations” piece by Victor Goertz, a colourful acrylic featuring the detailed base of a dramatic west-coast evergreen tree, which is located between the entry way & the kitchen, the other is “City In Pink & Green” by David Tycho, pictured at the end of the main hall. The result is a layered, inviting space with personality & style. Somewhere to host a good party, indeed!
